April 2026 AOAP Volunteer of the Month

Dana Bogenschutz – April 2026 AOAP Volunteer of the Month

AOAP Volunteer of the Month is a recurring AOAP feature shedding light on an amazing AOAP Volunteer. As with any item of recognition, the volunteer of the month is a subjective exercise meant to highlight one aquatic professional whose volunterism with AOAP holds noteworthy context. (they must be a member of AOAP that has volunteered to be on a variety of AOAP Committees throughout the years).

AOAP is excited to introduce our Volunteer of the Month recognition. It only feels right that we kick off this new program with a long-standing volunteer who gives selflessly, regularly, and always with a smile!

Dana Bogenschutz –

I’m truly honored to be named Volunteer of the Month by the Association of Aquatic Professionals! I’ve had the privilege of volunteering at the AOAP annual conference since 2018, mainly at the registration desk, and I look forward to it every year. I love seeing familiar faces return, meeting new attendees, and being part of such an incredible community focused on aquatic safety and drowning prevention. I’ve learned so much over the years, and it’s been amazing to watch AOAP grow and continue making such a meaningful impact.

A little about me—I live in Green Bay, WI, work full-time managing a medical underwriting team (25 years and counting!), and stay busy with my husband, our two sons who are active in aquatics, and our many fur babies: four cats and a dog. I am looking forward to warmer Wisconsin days ahead, and especially the next conference!

I’m so grateful to be part of AOAP year after year.
